like below fixes the issue The problem was Xcode command line tolls that I had to update manually. The reason for the update is the new Xcode (7) update that I made. After the update compilation worked perfectly.

may help you . In your example, the static library libmylibrary.a will be linked in preference to any libmylibrary.a or libmylibrary.so that might exist in one of the linker's default search directories. The linker searchs in mypath before any of the default places, and as soon as it finds a libmylibrary.a or libmylibrary.so, it looks no further to satisfy -lmylibrary.
If mypath contained both libmylibrary.a and libmylibrary.so, the latter would be preferred.

Does that help Actually I found a workaround for this issue, which is to specify the path of the linker script without any space from the -T, e.g.

env.Append(LINKFLAGS = [
    '-Tscript/linker_script.ld'
    ])

I think the issue was by ths following , Try to set env['STATIC_AND_SHARED_OBJECTS_ARE_THE_SAME']=1 in your SConstruct.

like below fixes the issue When the installation directory is not in or below the current directory, SCons does not behave as expected, as commented in the SCons Install method docs:
