wish help you to fix your issue I have a tab delimited csv file. The file is sorted by the column 6, which is the column that contains the key for each group. What I need is to insert a string after each group as a separator. , I would use awk. Like this:
code :
awk -F'\t' 'NR>1&&g!=$6{print "----"}{g=$6}1' input.txt

I think the issue was by ths following , This does exactly what you are asking, checks the rows, and inserts a blank empty row at each change in column A:
code :
sub AddBlankRows()
'
dim iRow as integer, iCol as integer
dim oRng as range

set oRng=range("a1")

irow=oRng.row
icol=oRng.column

do
'
if cells(irow+1, iCol)<>cells(irow,iCol) then
    cells(irow+1,iCol).entirerow.insert shift:=xldown
    irow=irow+2
else
    irow=irow+1
end if
'
loop while not cells (irow,iCol).text=""
'
end sub

wish help you to fix your issue This question has been asked for excel. How to automatically insert a blank row after a group of data , First transform all columns to character vectors:
code :
df_new <- as.data.frame(lapply(df, as.character), stringsAsFactors = FALSE)
head(do.call(rbind, by(df_new, df$group, rbind, "")), -1 )

#      group xvalue yvalue
# a.1      a     16      1
# a.2
# b.2      b     17      2
# b.3      b     18      3
# b.31
# c.4      c     19      4

I hope this helps . I am trying to add a row of NAs after each group of data in R. , You could try
code :
df$group <- as.character(df$group)
setDT(df)[, .SD[1:(.N+1)], by=group][is.na(xvalue), group:=NA][!.N]
#     group xvalue yvalue
#1:     a     16      1
#2:    NA     NA     NA
#3:     b     17      2
#4:     b     18      3
#5:    NA     NA     NA
#6:     c     19      4
#7:     c     20      5
#8:     c     21      6
#9:    NA     NA     NA
#10:    d     22      7
#11:    d     23      8
#12:    d     24      9
#13:    d     25     10
 setDT(df)[, indx := group][, .SD[1:(.N+1)], indx][,indx := NULL][!.N]
 setDT(df)[df[,.I[1:(.N+1)], group]$V1][!.N]
 setDT(df)[df[, c(.I, NA), group]$V1][!.N]
