will be helpful for those in need I have a text box which take string value. On Focus lost it does a specific function (say function 1). But even if I lost focus on the window, this OnFocus event is getting triggered. , I tried checking if the On focus event is NULL.
code :
classA::OnTextBoxFocus()
{
   CWnd* pCurrentFocus = GetFocus();

  if(pCurrentFocus != NULL)
  // if focus event execute function 1

}

hop of those help? Well I may have figured it out.The following code, when added to the CheckListPanel class will allow the selected item to be identified. I guess the list control must be instantiated before you can use the GetSelectedItem() method since it requires a wx.ID to bind the Event. I added this after populating the list setting the panel sizer
code :
            # bind selected event to selected row
    wx.EVT_LIST_ITEM_SELECTED(self,self.list.GetId(), self.OnSelectItem)

def OnSelectItem(self, index):
    print 'Selected item index=',self.list.GetFocusedItem()
    msg='Selected item index='+str(self.list.GetFocusedItem())
    Publisher().sendMessage(('change_statusbar'), msg) # Communication with Main Frame

seems to work fine I made the simple mistake of executing the script before the document was ready. So I had to change the javascript a little. So I put above code in the following code:
code :
$(document).ready(function() {
    //Above code without the script tags and without the alert
});

it helps some times I had a workaround as following. I set a keydown event on the previous object (which is not a button)
code :
document.querySelector('#password').addEventListener('keydown', function(e) {
    if (e.key != "Tab" && e.key != "Enter") return;
    //Execute();
});
document.querySelector('#submit').addEventListener('mousemove', function(e) {
    document.querySelector('#submit').focus();
    //Execute();
});

hop of those help? I want to trigger a java script event to some classes in html. I don't want to use any jQuery or other js event like onfocus(). I don't want to add any event listener in the html code. But event handlers in js might will be accepted!
code :
element.onfocus = () => {event handler function}
element.addEventListener('focus', () => {event handler function})
elements = document.querySelectorAll('.class');
elements.forEach(element => element.addEventListener('focus', () => {handlerFunction});
