Put jcalendar-versionx.jar in your class path. If you want to use the JGoodies Look and Feel, put also jgoodies-looks-versionx.jar in your class path.

wish helps you I would recommend you use Joda Time for your date calculations. With regards to enabling and disabling your date values, Swing components have setEnabled() methods which you can use to either disable or enable the component.
That being said, you did not specify what have you tried... and are requesting code... I doubt those are two steps in the right direction for using this site...

hope this fix your issue Is there a way to set a textfield in Java to non-editable? I don't mean not enabled as I want the user to be able to insert values by using JCalender but not to be able to enter values manually? , Yes. But I think you are talking about something like JDateChooser:
code :
JDateChooser dateChooser = new JDateChooser();
dateChooser.getDateEditor().setEnabled(false);

With these it helps I am not sure what do you mean by "e.i doesnt want to need use jDatechooser". To get the date you could use :
code :
jCalendar.getDayChooser().addPropertyChangeListener(
        //property sliderListener detects change of date in date chooser
        (PropertyChangeEvent evt)-> { dateChooserPropertChanged(evt);   });

private void dateChooserPropertChanged(PropertyChangeEvent evt) {

    if ("calendar".equals(evt.getPropertyName())
                || "date".equals(evt.getPropertyName())) {

        System.out.println("date is :"+ jCalendar.getDayChooser().getDate());
    }
}
