Why am I getting a cannot implicitly convert int to bool error?

seems to work fine an if statement checks if the arguments are true, and then executes the code within the block.
code :
dao.Update(call)
if (dao.Update(call) == true)
if ([integer value] == true)
if (dao.Update(call) > 0)

hop of those help? This line doesn't contain a boolean expression as required by the for syntax, change it to
code :
 for (int i = 0; i < dataGridView1.Rows.Count; i++)

I hope this helps you . I'm new to C# I'm using microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 Windows Desktop edition and I was trying to make a quiz in which I ask the question and the user has to answer it so, here's the code and the error i get is "Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'bool'" and this happens on the 2 if statements, I understand that a bool has either the value true or false however it's a string so why is it giving me this error? Any help should be appreciated. PS: I only included the part of the code in which i'm having the problem and this is the only code in the main class , in all of your if statements
code :
if (answer1 = "yes")
if (answer1 == "yes")

should help you out Apparently s is a Nullable, also written as bool?. This is a value that can be a bool or it can be null. It's not valid to simply assume that it's a bool; you need to test to make sure it's not null first, and handle the null appropriately if it is.
If it doesn't make sense in this context for it to be a null at all, then try to fix the type of s to be a regular bool.

hop of those help? Statement 1. .Wait() has no return result. It is a void method, and therefore its result cannot be assigned to a variable.
You can use .Result which will wait until Task completes and return a result.
code :
// Both are applicable to simple Tasks:
bool isValid = MyValidationFunction(jsonData).Result;

// does that same as

var task = MyValidationFunction(jsonData);
task.Wait();
bool isValid = task.Result;
// That's how you do it with async/await:
public async bool GetJsonAndValidate()
{
     string jsonData = GetJson();
     bool isValid = await MyValidationFunction(jsonData);
}
