I wish this help you Assuming that this is a method in a class, it assigns the attributes to the class.
Suppose we have this class:
code :
class NewCar
  def initialize(name, color, size)
    @name = name
    @color = color
    @size = size
  end
  attr_accessor :name, :color, :size
end
car = NewCar.new('my car', 'blue', 'small')
car.name = 'new car'
car.color = 'red' # I hate blue cars
car.size = 'Big' # my car is big
car.send("name=", 'My new car')
car.send("color=", 'red')
car.send("size=", 'Big')
class NewCar
  def initialize(name, color, size)
    @name = name
    @color = color
    @size = size
  end
  attr_accessor :name, :color, :size
  def attributes=(attrs = {})
    (attrs||{}).each do |k, v|
      send(:"#{k}=", v)
    end
  end
end
car = NewCar.new("my car", 'blue', 'small')
car.attributes = {color: 'red', size: 'Big'}
car.attributes=({color: 'blue', size: 'small'}
car.attributes = {color: 'blue', size: 'small'}

I think the issue was by ths following ,
Should I send itemList as a local variable as well instead of making it an instance variable? Or better should I make the SQLiteStatement as well a instance protected variable?

I hope this helps you . I have two models. , Let's look at your two models first:
code :
# app/models/user.rb
class User < ActiveRecord::Base
  has_many :trial_subscriptions
  attr_accessible :trial_subscriptions_attributes
end

# app/models/trial_subscription.rb
class TrialSubscription < ManualSubscription
end
# app/models/user.rb
class User < ActiveRecord::Base
  has_many :trial_subscriptions

  accepts_nested_attributes_for :trial_subscriptions
  attr_accessible :trial_subscriptions_attributes
end
@user = User.new(email: 'blahblahblah@gmail.com', password:'eightcharacterslong')
@subscription = @user.trial_subscriptions.build
@user.save #saving the user permanently

User.last // Shows last user
User.last.trial_subscriptions #shows last users trial subscriptions

hope this fix your issue They both work normally and in the same way. The className appears to work differently because you're effectively removing elements from the list you're working with, while you're going through it.
when you use setAttribute("class", "green"); you're replacing the "wasd" class with "green"

will help you Regarding color, I'm not entirely sure the difference.
Regarding double buffering: Let's say you have a slow frame rate, 3fps. If it takes a third of a second to draw everything on the screen, you're going to see them as they draw. If it's drawn using the painter's algorithm for instance, you'll see the background polygons first, then you'll see things closer up. Also, the last thing to get drawn would only be on for an instant before it gets cleared to draw the next frame.

help you fix your problem The latest TTML spec is at http://www.w3.org/TR/ttml1/ Many of the timing semantics come from SMIL 2.1.
There are two parts to your answer: first, how do you compute the times for any particular content element; second, how do you relate those times to some other timeline for playback.
