How to change the date format in a list of dates

How to change the date format in a list of dates

seems to work fine I want to import data from multiple csv files. Every business day a new CSV file is produces and the first 8 digits of the file name is the date in question. I want to import the data from the last 100 files every day. So, I thought I wanted to make a list of dates and use that in a for loop to collect all the data. To create a date range I did the following: , You can use a list comprehension together with strftime.
code :
datelist = [d.strftime('%Y%m%d')
            for d in pd.bdate_range(end=pd.datetime.today(), periods = 100)]

>>> datelist
['20151110',
 '20151111',
 '20151112',
 '20151113',
 '20151116',
 '20151117',
 '20151118',
 '20151119',
 '20151120',
 '20151123', ...]

With these it helps You could use Pandas' vectorize string methods to extract the day, month and year from each date string:
code :
import pandas as pd

df = pd.DataFrame(['31MAR2005', '30-06-05', '311205'], columns=['Date'])
tmp = df['Date'].str.extract(r'(\d{2})-?(\D{3}|\d{2})-?.*(\d{2})')
tmp.columns = ['day', 'month', 'year']
In [228]: tmp
Out[228]:
  day month year
0  31   MAR   05
1  30    06   05
2  31    12   05
import calendar
monthmap = {calendar.month_abbr[i].upper(): '{:02d}'.format(i) for i in range(1, 13)}
monthmap.update({'{:02d}'.format(i):'{:02d}'.format(i) for i in range(1, 13)})
tmp['month'] = tmp['month'].map(monthmap)
In [230]: tmp
Out[230]:
  day month year
0  31    03   05
1  30    06   05
2  31    12   05
df['Date'] = tmp['day']+'-'+tmp['month']+'-'+tmp['year']
In [232]: df
Out[232]:
       Date
0  31-03-05
1  30-06-05
2  31-12-05
df['Date'] = pd.to_datetime(df['Date'])

To fix the issue you can do I'm trying to append a list of dates to a list of lists such as myList below. This is working as expected except the date format for the date element in each list element is lost. Any ideas? , Using Map, you can also create a small (lambda) function like so:
code :
myList <- list(
  list(event = "A"),
  list(event = "B"),
  list(event = "C")
)

dates <- as.Date(c("2011-06-05", "2012-01-12", "2016-05-09"))

outList <- Map(f = function(origList, date) {
  origList$eventDate <- date
  return(origList)
}, myList, dates)

outList
#> [[1]]
#> [[1]]$event
#> [1] "A"
#>
#> [[1]]$eventDate
#> [1] "2011-06-05"
#>
#>
#> [[2]]
#> [[2]]$event
#> [1] "B"
#>
#> [[2]]$eventDate
#> [1] "2012-01-12"
#>
#>
#> [[3]]
#> [[3]]$event
#> [1] "C"
#>
#> [[3]]$eventDate
#> [1] "2016-05-09"
c(123, as.Date("2016-01-01"))
#> [1]   123 16801

may help you . I'm new to Python and I've searched around for the answer to this. I've seen similar questions but haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for.
code :
dates = ['2000-01-01', '2018-11-05']
[int(date.replace('-','')) for date in dates]
[20000101, 20181105]

     datetime.datetime(2019, 10, 3, 0, 0),
     datetime.datetime(2019, 10, 14, 0, 0),
     datetime.datetime(2019, 10, 15, 0, 0)]
