wish help you to fix your issue My guess would be that fastercsv is adding the extra quotes to escape the quotes in your input string. So if you're input string is [Hello, CSV], faster csv would have to enclose it within double quotes so that csv parsing isn't disrupted by the comma. Ditto for double quotes which have significance in CSV.
I'd say try sending string without the quotes, let fastercsv decide when it needs the double quotes OR use single quotes like Jacob suggests.

Does that help The only reason you might need """ instead of ''' (or vice versa) is if the string itself contains a triple quote.
code :
s1 = '''This string contains """ so use triple-single-quotes.'''
s2 = """This string contains ''' so use triple-double-quotes."""

hop of those help? No. They are the same. The only difference is that the first one can contain a sequence of three unescaped double quotes, while the second can contain a sequence of three unescaped single quotes. (In other words, because the delimiters are different, there is a slight difference in what characters you can use inside them.)
Docstrings are just regular strings, and in Python there is no difference between the different string delimiters, except that, of course, you can't use the string delimiter inside the string.

Hope this helps I don't know why he uses triple double quotes in his book. They're nothing special, and one double quote works just fine.
This is a little known "feature" of ruby - it simply glues adjacent strings together.
code :
s = "hello " "world" # equivalent to "hello " + "world"
s # => "hello world"
puts "" + "
There's something going on here.
With the three double-quotes.
We'll be able to type as much as we like.
Even 4 lines if we want, or 5, or 6.
" + ""
