Hope that helps Even with the same stack size the actual usage of stack might be different. It may depend on:
JVM vendor JVM version (even changes in minor version might lead to different stack usage) Operating System Whether method is interpreted, JIT-compiled by C1 or C2 compiler (C2-compiled method usually eats less stack). Some random startup conditions (even on the same box the stack usage might be different on different launches).

wish help you to fix your issue Both are needed to generate a StackOverflowError. When you include this line:
code :
static final GenerateStackOverflow E1 = new GenerateStackOverflow("value1");
final GenerateStackOverflow E2 = new GenerateStackOverflow("value2");

I wish this helpful for you What I'm trying to do is make a class that handles a deck of cards as defined by the Card class. To make it easier on myself, I made the parameters both be integers and then I made 2 separate (and private) toString methods to give the String equivalent of the value. The issue is, it's giving me a Stack overflow error when I try to run my test class. Here is my work so far: , You need to remove this line from your constructor:
code :
cardCard = new Card(cardNumber, cardSuit);
switch (cardNumber) {
    case 1:
        return "Ace";
    case 2:
        return "2";
    case 3:
        return "3";

    //... Put the remaining cases here

        return null;

wish helps you Because you force the evaluation to the recursive fibonacci call immediately.
In other words you need to create a lazy generator instead, either by using a method such as continually or by mapping on the tail. Scaladoc actually have a good example for how to create a fibonacci stream here: http://www.scala-lang.org/api/current/index.html#scala.collection.immutable.Stream

Hope this helps This is because you are using post-increment(b++) instead of pre-increment(++b) when you make recursive calling of DrawValues method. If you use post-increment, argument will be increment after method has been invoked. Hence, in your case, variable b never will be changed.
So, you should to use pre-increment:
code :
DrawValues(g,g2, x+66, y, a, ++b);

it helps some times Your max_heapify will always end up in another recursion. There is no termination happening in any of the control paths. This causes your stack overflow.
