will be helpful for those in need I'm using following command to get all the files which were modified before 20 hours and after 20 days past.. , You can format output using Format-Table cmdlet like this:
code :
$table_properties = @{Expression={$_.Fullname};Label="Full Name";width=195},
                    @{Expression={$_.LastWriteTime};Label="Last Write Time";width=35}

Get-ChildItem -Path '\\server\c$\Program Files (x86)\folder'   -recurse -Filter *.* -include *.* |
? {$_.LastWriteTime -lt (Get-Date).Addhours(-20) }|
? {$_.LastWriteTime -gt (Get-Date).AddDays(-20)} |
Sort-Object -Property LASTWRITETIME -Descending |
Format-Table $table_properties

this one helps. You don't assign your date_sub values back to your variables, so the "subtracted" values are simply lost. You should have had:
code :
$yearago = date_sub($yearago,  ...);
$yearago = new DateTime("1 year ago");
$sixmonths = new DateTime('6 months ago');
$yearago = strtotime('1 year ago');
$sixmonths = strtotime('6 months ago');

I wish this help you I have an Excel spreadsheet and use VBA to show a list of files in a specific folder. The VBA also creates hyperlinks for me. That is working fine. However, it does not place the Dates Last Modified in the cells next to each hyperlink. , I believe filedatetime function is one you are looking for
EDIT
code :
Sub Hyperlink()
Dim objFSO As Object, objFolder As Object, objFile As Object
Dim i As Integer

Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set objFolder = objFSO.GetFolder("S:\Promigen Orders")
i = 1

For Each objFile In objFolder.Files

Range(Cells(i + 1, 1), Cells(i + 1, 1)).Select

ActiveSheet.Hyperlinks.Add Anchor:=Selection, Address:= _
objFile.Path, TextToDisplay:=objFile.Name

Range(Cells(i + 1, 2), Cells(i + 1, 2)) = objFile.DateLastModified
i = i + 1
Next objFile
End Sub

How to compare the modified dates of 3 or more files

To fix this issue I'm trying to write a bash script that accepts 3 or more filenames as arguments and outputs the newest file. I'm finding it hard to compare the arguments since essentially each argument has to be compared to all the others. , ls -c file1 file2 file3... | head -n 1 does the trick.

To fix the issue you can do find is inherently recursive, but you're specifying maxdepth of 1. You could use ls:
code :
ls -lah /home/ubuntu --time-style full-iso | awk '!/2019-01-20|2019-09-18/'
ls -lah /home/ubuntu --time-style full-iso | awk '!/2019-01-20|2019-09-18/' | awk 'BEGIN {ORS=""} {split($0,a," "); printf "%s\n",a[9]}'
